Emmy Barouh is a Bulgarian journalist, translator, writer, author of documentary films and one of the pioneers of Bulgaria’s independent press after the fall of the Berlin wall. She is a curator and art-producer as well. As a journalist she has worked as a columnist in „Uchitelsko delo“ and „Studentska Tribuna“ and recentrly in the Bulgarian Section of Deutsche Welle (1989-2013). She has also been the editor in chief of EDNO Magazine (2004-2007), press secretary and cultural attaché at the Bulgarian Embassy in Brussels (1990-1994), Member of Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Bulgaria and President and General Commissioner of National Committee „Europalia-Bulgaria 2002“. She is the author of several books and translator of books of numerous authors from French and Spanish.
